Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic team. This position primarily focuses on tax preparation, compliance, and planning, but may also involve other accounting and financial support work as needed. It’s ideal for someone looking to grow their career in taxation and accounting within a collaborative, hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, small businesses, and corporations.
  • Support senior tax accountants with tax planning, research, and advisory projects.
  • Assist with accounting work such as reconciliations, financial reporting, and bookkeeping when needed.
  • Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and optimize client tax positions.
  • Organize and maintain tax and accounting records with accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and reports related to tax and accounting activities.
  • Communicate directly with clients to gather information and address tax or accounting inquiries.
  • Stay up to date with current tax developments, accounting standards, and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with team members on special projects, year-end work, and process improvements.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in tax preparation or general accounting (internship experience accepted).
  • Basic knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and GAAP principles.
  • Proficiency in tax and accounting software, plus Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • A willingness to learn, take initiative, and adapt in a fast-paced firm.
